Coach Martin is in his 12th season as head coach at Patterson High School. In the past eleven seasons, coach Martin’s teams have compiled a 201-74 record, including two state championships — the school’s first ever state championship in 2012 (3A) and second in 2017 (2A). He has also led the Clippers to five regional championships — 2011 (4A), 2012 (3A), 2014 (2A), 2015 (2A) and 2017 (2A) — and two Baltimore City championships — 2011 and 2017.
Coach Martin is a 1994 graduate of Baltimore City College High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He is a 1998 graduate of Coppin State University where he was a key member of the 1995 MEAC Championship baseball team. The entire 1995 team was enshrined into Coppin’s Hall of Fame.
Coach Martin is a certified mathematics secondary mathematics teacher and has been head of Patterson’s math department for the past 10 years. He is in his 20th year at Patterson.

Coach Oliver is in his seventh year as an assistant. Oliver has coached AAU and high school basketball in Baltimore for 25 years. He has coached numerous Baltimore stars, including Carmelo Anthony, Juan Dixon, Donte Greene, Malcolm Delaney, Shawnta Rogers and many more. Oliver is a 1988 graduate of Lake Clifton High School. His son, Dereck, is a 2015 graduate of Patterson and is currently playing at Augusta College.

Coach Bell is in his eighth year as an assistant. Bell is Patterson’s lead strength and conditioning coach, famous for his “32 Minutes of Hell” workout each practice. Bell has also been an assistant football coach at Patterson for two years. Outside of the season, he leads the team’s offseason conditioning and runs the popular Poop Camp at Lake Montebello. Bell is a 1989 graduate of Patterson.
Program Assistant Coach: Seth Hoffman
Coach Hoffman is in his seventh season as an assistant. Hoffman coaches post players, and maintains the program’s Website, statistics and social media. Hoffman has also coached AAU in numerous capacities. Hoffman graduated from the University of Maryland with a journalism degree and assists athletes with English and SAT verbal preparation.
Program Assistant Coach: Kevin Simpson
Coach Simpson is in his third year as an assistant. Simpson is one of the best high school players in Baltimore City history. He stared at Southern, leading the school to its first state championship.
