For the second straight game, Patterson overcame a double-digit deficit to win, this time defeating Dunbar, 74-57.
The Clippers (10-2, 5-1 Baltimore City) trailed by 10 points in the second quarter and trailed 35-27 in the third quarter before going on a 33-14 run to recapture control of the game. Patterson outscored Dunbar 24-8 in the fourth quarter.
Dereck Oliver, who was named the Fox 45 prep player of the week, had his seventh straight game of 20 or more points, scoring 22 of his game-high 26 points in the second half. Oliver also added four assists and three rebounds. Through six league games, Oliver is averaging 24.2 points.
Gary Blackston had another stat-stuffing night, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals. He made three 3-pointers and as a team, Patterson was 10 of 18 (55.6 percent) from behind the arc.
Tyquan Pointer hit two of those 3-pointers during the Clippers’ second-half run, and finished with six points. Koran Moore had six points, four rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block. Demetrich Williams finished with six points, six rebounds, and two steals.
The Clippers forced Dunbar into 21 turnovers and finished 18 of 19 (94.7 percent) from the free throw line.
The JV team moved to 7-3 with a 51-32 win. Isaiah Clemons had 16 points and Juma Putman finished with 14.
Patterson is back in action on Thursday when it takes on New Town at The Basketball Academy at Morgan State. Tipoff is set for 6:45 p.m.
