Patterson overcame a double-digit third-quarter deficit to force overtime and defeat City, 71-65, on the road.
The Clippers (9-2, 4-1 Baltimore City) trailed 41-29 in the third quarter before Gary Blackston’s putback dunk ignited a run. Patterson outscored City 19-6 to take a 48-47 lead and went up 56-52 with less than a minute left. But City tied the game at 56 to force overtime, where Patterson never trailed.
Dereck Oliver, a game after scoring his 1,000th point, had his sixth straight 20-plus point game. He finished with 28 points, four assists and four steals. Blackston, who overcame a slow first half, finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, five steals, two assists and three blocks.
The Clippers also got a strong effort from Koran Moore, who came up just three blocks short of a triple-double. He finished with 15 points, 19 rebounds and seven blocks.
Patterson got three points each from Demetrich Williams and Daquan Jones. Williams also had seven rebounds and two blocks and Jones had three steals. Richard Hibbert also played solid minutes, finishing with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. The Clippers finished with a season-high 14 blocks.
Earl Ross rounded out the scoring with two points.
The JV team moved to 6-3 with a 59-52 win. Isaiah Clemons had 16 points, Tyrell Williams had 15, and Daquan Heath had 11.
