Patterson used a balanced scoring attack, including Dereck Oliver’s fourth straight 20-plus point game, to cruise to a 71-29 at Digital Harbor.
Oliver scored 18 of his game-high 20 points in the a first half the Clippers (8-1) led 43-16. He also added five assists. Over the last four games Oliver is averaging 22.8 points. He is now 11 points short of 1,000 for his career.
Patterson also got an all-around strong outing from Demetrich Williams, who finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Tyquan Pointer rounded out the double-digit scoring, finishing with a season-high 10 points.
Gary Blackston finished with eight points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. The Clippers also got strong play from sophomore forwards Christion Adams (six points, nine rebounds) and Earl Ross (five points, six rebounds, two blocks).
Daquan Jones (six points) and Richard Hibbert (two points, four rebounds) rounded out the scoring for Patterson. The Clippers forced 20 turnovers and held Digital Harbor to 30 percent shooting from the field.
Patterson’s JV team moved to 5-2 with a 50-47 win. Daquan Heath led the Clippers with 21 points. Trey Robinson had 11 points and Juma Putman added 10.
Patterson is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Edmondson. JV tips at 3:45 p.m. and varsity begins 20 minutes after the conclusion of the JV game.
