Lake Clifton grabbed the lead midway through the second quarter and didn’t look back, handing Patterson its first loss this season, 70-64.
Lake Clifton outscored the Clippers (12-1) 25-12 in the second quarter and went into the half up 43-32. Patterson cut the deficit to four late in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.
The Clippers struggled from the field, shooting 21 of 68 (31 percent) and 6 of 27 (22 percent) from 3-point range.
Dawan Bass had a strong effort for Patterson, finishing with 17 points, 16 rebounds and five steals. Dereck Oliver led the Clippers with 18 points and chipped in six assists and three rebounds.
Rysheed Corbin had 16 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Kwynten Brooks had five points, five rebounds and four assists. Emerson Atkins had five points and five rebounds, including a putback dunk in the second quarter.
Patterson is back in action on Thursday at the Basketball Academy at Morgan State against Randallstown.
