Patterson defeats Owings Mills, 82-68, in Laurel Showcase

Dereck Oliver scored 23 points and Rysheed Corbin scored 21 to lead Patterson past Owings Mills, 82-68, at the Laurel High School Showcase.

Oliver made 7 of 17 shots and 7 of 9 free throws and added three assists to pace the Clippers (3-0). Corbin went over 20 points for the third straight game and chipped in five assists and three rebounds.

In all, nine of 10 Patterson who saw minutes scored. Dawan Bass recorded his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kwynten Brooks put together another all-around game, finishing with four points, two rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a team-high four steals.

Fortune Okigweh paced Patterson’s frontcourt with six points and nine rebounds. Daquan Jones continued his strong shooting from outside, making two 3-pointers and finishing with six points. Tyquan Pointer added five points and three rebounds.

Patterson is back in action on Friday night at BDJ.
