Patterson’s three starting guards each scored in double figures, but Poly pulled away in the second half to defeat the Clippers, 64-54.
Poly took a 29-28 lead into halftime and Patterson (8-3) took the lead on a basket at the start of the third quarter before Poly retook the lead and expanded it to double digits.
Sophomore guard Dereck Oliver led Patterson with 16 points, while junior guard Kwynten Brooks added 11 points and four rebounds and senior guard Devante Conyers had 13 points and four rebounds.
Junior guard Dawan Bass added six points and six rebounds for the Clippers. Senior forward Anthony Dandridge chipped in four points and 10 rebounds. Patterson also got solid play out of freshman center Desmond Brown, who had two points, six rebounds and two blocks.
Patterson is back in action at home on Friday against Bluford Drew Jemison Academy.
