A pair of Patterson seniors have made verbal commitments to play in college.
Leonard Livingston, a 6-foot-10 center, pledged to Florida Gulf Coast, a Division I school that plays in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Nyme Manns, a 6-foot-4 forward, committed to Division II West Virginia Wesleyan to play football.
Livingston started 15 games and averaged 4.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and blocked 92 shots in 28 games.
He capped off the season with standout performances in the 3A state semifinals and finals at Comcast Center. Against Tuscarora in the semifinals, Livingston had seven rebounds and eight blocks. He then helped Patterson win its first state championship with eight points, four rebounds and 11 blocks against Thomas Stone.
Manns started 17 games and averaged 7.2 points and 8.2 rebounds, tied for the team lead. He was the Clippers’ best shooter, hitting 54 percent of his shots from the field. He also led Patterson with six double-doubles, including an 11-point, 11-rebound performance against Tuscarora in the state semifinals.
Patterson will honor Livingston, Manns and its other college-bound seniors in a signing ceremony in April.
