Four players scored in double figures and Patterson shot better than 50 percent from the field in its 76-44 win at Hereford in the first round of the 3A North region playoffs.
The 15th-seeded Clippers (16-7) trailed after the first quarter but outscored second-seeded Hereford by 33 points the rest of the game. Aquille Carr led all scorers with 23 points and added five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Patterson will travel to face No. 10-seed Franklin on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the second round of the playoffs.
The Clippers on Saturday got solid contributions up and down the lineup. Myrek Lee-Fowlkes had 16 points, three rebounds and four steals; Devin Hebron had 12 points, three rebounds and two steals; and Dereck Oliver had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Leonard Livingston controlled the paint with five blocks while both Nyme Manns and Shakir Brown had five points and six rebounds.
Defensively, Patterson forced 21 turnovers (17 coming on steals) and held Hereford to 34 percent shooting.
