Four Dunbar players scored in double figures while Patterson struggled to shoot from behind the arc and at the free-throw line in Dunbar’s 65-61 victory in the City Championship game at Morgan State.
Patterson, which won last year’s City title, faced a small deficit for much of the night but was unable to regain the lead after the first quarter. It shot 43 percent from the field but made 1 of 17 3-pointers (6 percent) and 14 of 24 free throws (58 percent).
Dunbar, meanwhile, had a balanced scoring attack. Rodrick Harrison scored 18 points on five three pointers; Evan Singletary had 16 points; Donte Pretlow had 10 points and eight rebounds; and Aaron Parham had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
For Patterson (15-7), Aquille Carr led all scorers with 24 points. Devin Hebron had 14 points and seven rebounds; Myrek Lee-Fowlkes had 11 points and six rebounds; and Shakir Brown had four points and 12 rebounds.
