Patterson clinched its spot in the Division I City Championship game with a 62-33 win over Carver on Thursday.
The Clippers, who closed out the regular season 15-6, will go for their second straight city title when they face Dunbar on Tuesday night at Morgan State.
Against Carver, Patterson led from start to finish and drew a running clock after extending its lead to more than 30 points in the third quarter.
Aquille Carr led all scorers with 13 points and added seven assists and three rebounds. He also had a pair of crowd-pleasing dunks. Shakir Brown had 11 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals; Leonard Livingston had seven points, five rebounds and four blocks; and nine players scored four or more points.
Patterson shot 53 percent from the field and held Carver to 28 percent shooting.
The Clippers lost only two games to in-state foes this season: at Dunbar and in double overtime at Poly. The drawing for the 3A state playoffs will take place on Sunday. Patterson is expected to receive a random seed of five or lower in the 3A North.
