Aquille Carr scored a game-high 22 points to pace Patterson in its 56-52 win over No. 1 Lake Clifton, a victory that brings the Clippers one game closer to a berth in the City Championship.
Patterson (12-6) will reach the title game at Morgan State if it wins at Edmondson-Westside on Friday.
On Tuesday, eight Patterson players scored in another balanced effort. Myrek Lee-Fowlkes had eight points and five rebounds; Shakir Brown had seven points and eight rebounds; and Nyme Manns had seven points and 10 rebounds. It is the fifth straight game Manns has reached double figures in rebounds.
In addition to leading the Clippers in scoring for the ninth straight game, Carr had five assists. Patterson also received solid contributions from Kwynten Brooks, who had a crucial steal and a layup in the fourth quarter; Devin Hebron, who had five points and helped spark a third quarter run; and Leonard Livingston, who had two points, three rebounds and three blocks and altered several other shots.
Patterson held Lake Clifton to 38 percent shooting from the field and 2 of 15 from 3-point range.
Aaron Parks had 18 points to lead Lake Clifton.
