Nyme Manns had 20 points and 15 rebounds to pace Patterson in its 81-52 win over Douglass on Wednesday night.
Manns made 8 of 10 field goals and added two steals in the latest of a string of strong games from the senior forward. Aquille Carr added 23 points, four assists and four steals for the Clippers (9-5).
Patterson and Douglass went into the half tied at 34, but the Clippers outscored the Ducks 47-18 in the second half thanks to a stingy defense. For the game, Douglass shot 32 percent from the field and committed 22 turnovers — 15 of which came on Patterson steals.
Other top contributors for Patterson included Shakir Brown, who had 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks; Dereck Oliver and Kwynten Brooks with six points each; and Leonard Livingston with three blocks.
Patterson is off until next Friday, when it takes on Largo in the Mayor’s Academy at Coppin State. Tickets for that game and the one the following night against St. Frances are on sale for $5 at Patterson. They will cost $10 at the door, and seating is limited.
