Aquille Carr had 20 points, Myrek Lee-Fowlkes had 16 and Nyme Manns had 17 but it wasn’t enough for Patterson, which fell on Friday night at Dunbar, 64-55.
Five Poets scored in double figures, led by Donte Pretlow’s 14 points. Dunbar shot 45 percent from the field and knocked down seven 3-pointers to Patterson’s one.
The undefeated Poets led by as many as 12 points in third quarter. Patterson (8-3) cut the deficit to three points but could come no closer in its first city loss in two years.
Carr, who made 7 of 18 field goals, added four assists and five rebounds. Manns had nine rebounds while Lee-Fowlkes had seven rebounds and two blocks. The only other Patterson player to score was Shakir Brown, who had two points.
Kwynten Brooks had a solid effort off the bench for Patterson with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Patterson hits the road on Saturday to play nationally ranked St. Benedict’s (N.J.) Prep at the Jersey City Armory as part of the Dan Finn Classic.
