Patterson opened up a sizable lead early and held a double-digit advantage much of the way in its 69-61 victory over City College before a capacity crowd at home.
Aquille Carr had 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists to pace the Clippers (5-1), who led 20-9 after the first quarter and 37-23 at halftime. Myrek Lee-Fowlkes added 13 points and nine rebounds, while Shakir Brown had 12 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Patterson out-rebounded City by seven and held it to 39 percent shooting, including 1 of 9 (11 percent) from behind the arc. It also forced 14 turnovers.
Nyme Manns had six points and nine rebounds off the bench and Leonard Livingston chipped in four points and nine rebounds. Kwynten Brooks came off the bench for 19 solid minutes, accumulating two rebounds, two blocks, two steals and an assist.
The Clippers are back in action next Wednesday, Dec. 28, against Plymouth Whitemarsh (Pa.) in the Jameer Nelson Classic at Widener University (Pa.).
