Behind 20 points and 19 rebounds from Shakir Brown, Patterson moved to 2-0 with a 91-75 victory over Theodore Roosevelt (D.C.) at the Baltimore/D.C. Challenge at Lake Clifton.
Brown, who also had six steals and two blocks, is off to a fast start this season. He had 13 points, eight rebounds and six steals in the opening win against Coolidge (D.C.).
Patterson, which trailed after the first quarter, outscored Theodore Roosevelt 24-11 in the second quarter and had a 39-31 advantage at halftime.
Theodore Roosevelt closed the margin in the third quarter, but the Clippers finished with a 10-point advantage in the final quarter.
Myrek Lee-Fowlkes led Patterson scorers with 22 points, making 12 of 15 free throws. In all, the Clippers had five scorers in double digits: Devin Hebron had 19 points, Aquille Carr had 11 points and Nyme Manns had 10 points.
Leonard Livingston chipped in with three points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Anthony Lee had five points and is 4 of 4 from the field through two games. He has made two of the team’s five 3-pointers this season in limited minutes.
Patterson returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Mervo. Its home opener is three days later WEB DuBois, a game at which the team will be collecting canned goods and all nonperishable foods to donate to a local shelter. All who attend are encouraged to bring an item or items to donate.
